Tree canopy percentage, by census tract - derived from the European Space Agency (ESA) WorldCover 2020 Land Cover imagery service (this was because it has a higher resolution than the US National Land Cover Database). Pixels with a value of 10-11 , indicating presence of a tree canopy were reclassified to 1, and pixels without tree canopy (11-101) were reclassified to 0. I then used Zonal Statistics as Table to calculate the total number of pixels in each census tract, and the sum of the pixels on the census tracts. To calculate the percentage of tree cover, I divided the sum of pixel value by the total number of pixels. |
